We have been getting many confused emails and phone calls asking about special tuning to run these, so we wanted to clarify the difference between 50hp injectors for the 04.5-07 (325hp engines) 5.9L Late Pattern and the 03-04 (250hp & 305hp engines) Early Pattern.
Some shops sell the same 50hp Injector for the 04.5-07 (325hp engines) 5.9L Late Pattern as they do for the 03-04 (250hp & 305hp engines) Early Pattern. These injectors should be different! The late pattern is called such for a reason! The correct spray angle to match the early pattern bowls is 143° and the correct spray angle to match the late pattern bowls is 124°. If you use an early pattern injector with a 2004.5-07 Late Pattern bowl, the spray angle will not match the bowl and will cause haze.
Some shops that sell 50hp injectors for the late pattern will warn you to adjust injection timing, do some tuning, and that there may be haze. This is because they have the early spray angle of 143° and do not match the bowl of the late pattern bowl.
If it is the correct 50hp injector for your 04.5-07, you will NOT have haze, you will NOT need to reduce injection timing, and you will NOT need any special tuning!
Ever notice that the early OEM injectors and the late OEM injectors have different part numbers (0445120155, 0445120238)? This is because they are NOT the same, thus the 50hp injector for the early and late are ALSO different! 50hp Injectors require NO modifications to run and are a great upgrade for stock Cummins trucks!
So, if you are in the market for 50hp injectors for your 2004.5-07 5.9L 325hp engine Cummins, beware of shops warning you to adjust injection timing, do some tuning, and that there may be haze; because these are most likely not the right injector for your truck!
We sell 50hp injectors with 143° spray patterns for the 03-04( 205hp & 305hp) engines and we sell 60hp injectors with sac nozzles and a 124° spray pattern for the 04.5-07 (325hp engines). We have both in stock with free shipping!
Early Pattern Injectors (03-04 205hp & 350hp engines)

Why and how the sac nozzle is different and better is a completely different topic. In short; sac nozzles come with the correct spray angle of 124° to match the late pattern bowls and require no honing, and have more material at the tip which results in a more robust and durable nozzle!
